On an average; across our locations, the pass rate is 88%. However, the age of a vehicle is one of the key determining factors of whether or not a vehicle passes the smog test. We analyzed our entire 2017 data; with approximately 40,000 vehicles - and the table to the right are our findings on Pass/Fail by age of the vehicle.
"I have a car with over 100,000 miles on it. Will I pass the smog check?"
Fun Fact - the vehicle data we analyzed, collectively represents over 5 Billion miles driven! The average miles driven by a vehicle that we smog is ~ 130,000. To answer the above question, your vehicle with over 100,000 miles is the norm; and note again, our overall pass rate is 88%.
